musician, drummer, electronic, improviser, composer, His music is an experiment between drum techniques and electronic music, exploring many musical styles, from free jazz to noise, from minimalist music to free rock. Interested as much in the traditional concert than in performance, Yann Joussein works in a diversity of esthetics and musical forms. Co-founder / co-artistic director of the Collective and Label COAX based in Paris, Yann Joussein directs many projects: TRIBALISM (piece for 7 musicians and 3 dancers, written in collaboration with choreographer Claire Malchrowicz), Tribalism3 (with Olivia Scemama and Luca Ventimiglia), VIDEO GAME PARTY (performance around music and video games), PHOQUE EVENTRE - drums solo, electronic percussion and vocals, RESERVE AUX INSENSES (sound and light installation for a drummer, according to Hermann Hesse's Steppenwolf, directed by Pierre Talaron, with the voice of Denis Lavant)

He can also be heard with Håla duett (duet with sheik Anorak, artistic director of gaffer records - with who he toured in England, Scotland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark), Snap with Julien Desprez and Clément Edouard, Bribes4, Dark Radish, Peter Brötzmann, Jean François Pauvros or Raphael Vanoli, as well as the Tokyo-based performer kunichiro bueno, Akiyama Tetuzi, Miki Naoe and Marie Takahashi with whom he has made four tours and residencies in Japan and France. He also plays with COAX ORCHESTRA, the RETROVISEUR quartet, the DDJ trio, Jacques Coursil, Thomas de Pourquery, the French- English group "tweedle dee" and with the Swedish "jolly boat pirates" among others.

Explorant de nombreux styles musicaux, du free jazz à la musique bruitiste, de la musique minimaliste au free rock, Yann Joussein s’intéresse autant à la forme concert qu’à une forme plus performative de la musique comme le montre la di- versité de son travail.

Co-fondateur / co-directeur artistique du collectif et label Coax basé à Paris, Yann Joussein dirige ses projets : Tribalism (pièce pour 7 musicien(ne)s et 3 danseu(rs) ses écrite en collaboration avec la chorégraphe Claire Malchrowicz), Tribalism3 (avec Olivia Scemama et Luca Ventimiglia), Video Game Party (performance autour de la musique et des jeux vidéos), Phoque Eventré (solo batterie, percussions électroniques et voix), Réservé aux insensés (installation sonore et lumineuse pour un batteur, d’après le loup des steppes de Hermann Hesse, mis en scène par Pierre Talaron, avec la voix de Denis Lavant). On peut l’entendre avec Håla Duett (duo avec Sheik Anorak, directeur artistique de Gaffer Records - tournées Angleterre, Ecosse, Suède, Norvège, Danemark ) Snap avec Julien Desprez et Clément Edouard, Bribes4, Dark Radish, Peter Brötzmann, Jean François Pauvros, Raphael Vanoli. le performeur tokyoïte Kunichiro Bueno, Akiyama Tetuzi, Miki Naoe ou encore Marie Takahashi avec qui il a effectué quatre tournées et résidences au Japon et en France.

On a pu l’entendre avec Coax Orchestra, le quartet Retroviseur, le trio DDJ, Jacques Coursil, Thomas de Pourquery, le groupe franco-Anglais Tweedle Dee, avec les suédois Jolly Boat Pirates entre autres. Yann Joussein est diplômé du CNSM en 2008 puis a été primé au concours national de la Défense en 2010 et 2011.
